Bakerzin 2 @ Vivocity

This is one promotion I've been looking forward to! I'm no stranger to Bakerzin macarons that have gotten progressively more expensive over the years. A dollar per macaron sounds just good enough!

During one dessert outing over talk of the world's best macarons from Paris at 140 SGD for 12 (holysmokes! Someday, just someday I'll bag em...), I tried the following flavours

Blueberry (purple); There's a strong hint of blueberry here.

White Chocolate (cream with pink specks); I liked this best. There were berries inside the filling.

Raspberry (the pink)

Pistachio (Green)

Japanese Lemon (Yellow with green specks); another one strong on lemon.

What differentiates Canele's, Amonde's and Bakerzin from each other lies in the filling more than the macaron shell. The filling in the macarons are decent, just enough to sandwich the two shells. They're more of buttercream filling..somewhat overbearing in sweetness. I liked the White chocolate best followed by Japanese lemon.

To sweeten the deal further, Bakerzin is offering 6 macarons in a pack for $5, they are probably the not so "perfect" macarons off the oven...I was really tempted to bag some home..and toying with the idea of a re-visit another day... I was surprised at home! The sis so kindly and lovingly got me a packet!!

Same flavours but boy, I was deeply touched. The sis stole a bite of the white chocolate before I could snap a pic, hence short of one!

The only difference is the yellow lemon flavoured and brown coffee flavoured. The coffee one is strong for a non-caffeine addict like me. Lemon was the same as the Japanese lemon, the only difference? The filling of the japanese lemon was creamier and had the consistency of a sorbet. See how different the ones packed and served there are, they somehow look like "rejects" of the baking project eh? BUT, I'm NOT complaining!

While the month lasts, grab these cheap deals! The cheapest macaron in town this feb. :)
