Noodle Stories by Lao Beijing is a completely new arm serving delights from various parts of China. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a new concept at an old location.
Biang Biang Noodle ($10.80)
面
A specialty from Shaanxi Province, the chinese writing of this is so complicated it probably is in the running for the most complicated chinese character in the dictionary. This handmade noodle is quite unlike those I have ever eaten before. Hand pulled, dense like mee hoon kueh if not denser with a bite so wholesome. I could get lost in the bowl of slurping. Dress the noodles up with the minced meat sauce provided and you are in for a mighty tasty treat!
This comes with the runny egg that accompanies ramen too. Delicious much!
Sliced Pork with Garlic Sauce ($7.80)
A usual appetizer that I order in chinese restaurants, appetizing and the garlic taste is mild!
Shrimp, Pork and Chives Pan-fried 'Jiao Zi' ($6)
They were running a limited time promotion at $2 until end September. Very decently fried and filled with ample ingredients.
I am actually a fan of this Lao Beijing concept, affordable with surprising eats.
