I’m not sure when Mango Sticky Rice became a favourite thai dessert yet it is the combination of sticky glutinous rice, super sweet and fragrant mango, fried glutinous rice grains and that bombastic savoury and sweet coconut milk gravy.

Maevaree it seems has perfected THE mango sticky rice, infact specializing in it. Word has it that the moment their shutters are up, the packets of mango sticky rice fly off their shelves until shutters are pulled down. Previously operating 24 hours, they now have the luxury of closing at 11pm – I suppose this says a lot about their popularity.

A stone’s throw away from Thong Lor Station, it is almost hard to miss this fruit stall with dangling mangoes and rows of smooth skinned mangoes with various price tags attached.

120 THB for a packet of heaven – quite nearly.

One whole mango including the seed paired with the spot on glutinous rice, I wish I bought more!

Definitely worth a return and luggage space for more of this delicious treat.
