Special thanks to Nicole for the lovely parcel!

I have fussed over what to buy for christmas dinners for years - the bane has always been repetitive logcakes until I get a food coma until the following year where the cycle repeats itself. This year, I have the joy of putting tea cakes on the table for dessert - Mariette serves up a quartet of delicious tea cakes in all-new limited edition flavours.

Mariette, the frozen cake brand behind Singapore’s first microwaveable lava cake, is introducing limited edition flavours for the festive seasons. The four new flavours include seasonal trendy flavours such as Mixed Fruits and Nuts, Apple Cinnamon with Raisins, Red Velvet Cheese Swirl, and Matcha with Azuki Beans.

Easy to prepare, with no baking or heating required, hosts looking for easy dessert ideas may serve the palate-pleasing Mixed Fruits and Nuts tea cake, a lighter version of the traditional fruit cake or present the Apple Cinnamon with Raisins tea cake as the dessert star of a Christmas dinner.

If you're hankering for something more trendy, indulge in the Red Velvet Cheese Swirl or Matcha with Azuki Beans tea cake.

I found the flavours generally light and the cake very moist considering these are freeze and thaw cakes. A cheap treat infact!

Available in selected FairPrice and Cold Storage supermarkets, these festive treats retail for $8.90 per cake. Purchase any two limited flavours from FairPrice stores and redeem a Mariette cake server.

Even fans of Mariette's original cakes can celebrate. For a limited time, their Salted Caramel with Walnuts, Orange with Orange Peel, and Double Chocolate tea cakes, as well as Mini Chocolate Lava Cake are available from FairPrice stores for $6.90 (U.P. $7.90) each.

Both promotions are available only at selected FairPrice supermarkets and run from December 2014 to January 2015 (while stocks last).
