Portico is likely to be the only dining establishment within the grounds of Alexandra Road and the rest of the area are actually offices. Brunch was late at 230pm when the last order rings in at 330pm. Thankfully they did not close their shutters on us though we outstayed our brunch.
Looking just like a furniture shop.
Looking picture perfect, straight off a catalogue.
Loved the flavours but this was not the best bagel eaten.
Crispy Fish Burrito, Citrus Tartar Sauce, Cheddar Cheese ($15)
I found this a relatively new on a brunch menu - burritos are usually on a lunch or snack menu but they had this instead of the usual fish and chips. A comforting crispy battered fish wrapped snug in a burrito blanket. I love how the tangyness and creaminess of the sauces worked for it, I would give up my fish and chips just for this!
Truffle Fries ($13)
We had our eye on the ultimate truffle fries with the gold flakes and truffle shavings and what not but the waitress somehow logged in a different order. Thankful we are infact because the real deal would be 800grams worth and between 2 of us, it would be almost impossible to finish. Fries were crispy, double cooked and I adored the shaved parmesan shavings. Other than that, it was not the bestest fries eaten.
Croque Madame, Grilled Turkey Ham and Cheese on Sourdough, 63 Degree Egg, Truffle Infused Béchamel ($16)
The mountain of ingredients that went into it put hearty into this brunch number. The cheeses and ham went on such a merry ride, it was pure genius.
Veal Bratswust ($4)
I would not say no to juicy sausages and this bratswust was one of them. The Croque Madame already tasted so good, this was just a cherry on top of the icing.
Coffee that the caffeine addict found really pleasant and it was truly a surprise.
Their dinner menu looks great, I am all ready for a return! It has been poised to be the next big thing and well, I am joining the yaysayers.
