Zurich is an expensive city - world's most expensive, to try to put things in perspective. A single tram ride will set you back by CHF 4.2 (approx SGD 5.50) and packed steamed rice went for a tune of CHF 8 (SGD 10).
We stayed at Hotel Marta, two tram stops away from the Main Train Station and a hike up the hill. Rooms were adequate but by no means considered a room with frills. Basic amenities that set us back by at least SGD 200 a night for two. The location was decent for sightseeing around the city and located in a quiet area.
Buffet table.
Painted yellow speckled eggs!
Cold cuts.
Pate squeezed out of a tube made it odd.
Never can go wrong with cereal.
Breakfast was considered very basic for European standards and was decent enough to fill our tummies for the busy days ahead.
