Banana New Paradise @ Taichung

It is no open secret how much a fan I am of all things nostalgic - I cound Food Republic and the food court at Singapore Flyer as my favourite food courts because of the decor. Likewise, Yokohama Ramen Museum blew me away with the old fashioned time casule concept that got me all giggly and excited. Until Banana Paradise came along to complete the picture, that is.

Aimed to replicate old Taiwan in the 1920's or older, there are so many antiques stored in this place that makes it a mini-museum on its own!

street

Totally looks like a set up in some old film. Details, details!

time to eat

They could have just used wooden chopsticks.

rice

A sprinkling of black sesame seeds on top a bowl of rice (NTD10)...artistic much!

chicken

油淋去骨雞(NTD 138)

Fried chicken with a scattering of fried chives! Super delicious.
mayo prawns

果律明虾球(NTD 228)

Fresh prawn balls with an equally appetizing mayo sauce to match.

beancurd

三杯板豆腐(NTD 168)

Enough wok hei even in a hotpot like this. Tasty max.

Even with a tasty meal like this, I still gobbled down my food for more time to explore the place!
photos of yesteryears

Old photos that line the walls.

toilet

Even the toilet does not resemble one!

bits of the past

A collection of toys, magazines and posters.

door

Such impressive details they pay attention to.

movie entrance

Movie tickets?

dentist

Dentist!

signages

Utterly charmed.

doctor

Doctor?

store front

And my favourite part of the tour - candy shop!

candies galore

At least I could identify with some of the candies.

snacks galore

More!

Truly a perfect haven for those in love with all things nostalgic. Does not hurt that food is equally good and prices are so very affordable.
