I've been checking out Far East Square quite abit these days..though I am not sure why I did not bother much with this area much in the past. To date, I have yet to sink my pearlies into the famous Bergs burgers yet!
So I chanced upon this fusion restaurant; Japanese-Taiwanese joint that the companion egged me on to try. Turns out, the menu was as separate as chalk and cheese, they had taiwanese and japanese dishes but not fusion. Setting was Japanese, drinks served were mostly sake and the crowd that patronized made this eatery resemble an izakaya.
Hardly do I ever get Taiwanese cuisine cravings so I was definitely not expecting taiwanese dishes.
Chilled chicken roll stuffed with century egg
I suppose this dish accompanies drinks pretty well. Meat and century egg looked pretty but was a tad bland.

Stirfried eggplant
Homecooked goodness though they could do with lesser oil.

Tomato egg
My favourite pick of the three dishes. Tomatoes fried in ketchup and egg. The amount of antioxidants in this was overwhelming. Yum!
Most of the other tables stuck to ordering fried chicken strips and stir fried cabbage...maybe I should try that someday when I'm having a Taiwanese cuisine crave.Deluded by the promise it would be Japanese-Taiwanese I entered the eatery only to discover it was predominantly Taiwanese. Homecooked fare at best.
