I used to lament how lucky Americans, Hongkongers and Koreans are to be able to dine at celebrity opened restaurants. (Ok, those were really the days where I'd collect every single album, possibly every memorabilia of celebrities I liked). When Britney opened NYLA in New York and Shinhwa's Kyochon are just a few of those that I wanted to try over the years. Then on our sunny island, our celebrities followed suit! Nothing new I know...from Wang Yanqing to Michelle Saram to Mark Lee...right down to Pornsak has opened a shop...lending their stardusted power as a shield to stiff competition in the Food and Beverage industry.

Be greeted by an uber affable Pornsak who mans both the counter and doubles up as a greeter. All smiles throughout, he really seems like himself infront and behind the camera.

Think meatball on a lemongrass stick. Novelty item if you ask me but it was memorable for its well charred edges and meaty bite.

Stir fried Pork with Garlic
Very tze char and certainly was not Thai to me. Tasted like what your cai png stall can whip up in a jiffy.
Pad Thai Hor Gai ($9.90)*
Noodles wrapped in egg
If only this came piping hot and noodles that had more bite, it would have been a perfect omu noodle. Lacked the oomph a mean Pad Thai had.
Gang Keaw Wan ($10.90)*
Green Curry
A more decent one amongst the lacklustre.

Let's just say Porn's is not as authentic as expected and food is mediocre at best. If any consolation, it'll be a good place to star gaze...I'm hoping that Dai Yang Tian would patronize this place. Beats trying to catch a glimpse of him outside Caldecott Hill!
