Another category of wagashi is in the form of namagashi that reflects the various faces of nature in Japan's four seasons. These are shaped so beautifully, I cannot bear to eat! These are usually gifted over new year...like how we are such crazed nuts about bak kwa.
Everything's made of beans, the melt in your mouth pink exterior to the filling. I actually thought it was a sugary confection.
Bunny shaped mochi with white bean paste...loved this! So smooth and deliciously sweet.
These hardly come cheap at approx 200 Yen each.
