We attempted a non-dimsum breakfast for the fun of it in this congee shop. Was enticed by the 炸腸 or Zhar Leong.

爽滑腸粉 (HKD 7)
Rice rolls in soya sauce although simple was quite tasty.
香滑炸腸 (HKD 7)
Disappointing, the youtiao was soggy. The oil taste was evident.
油條 (HKD 5)
Not your usual You tiao, was served just warm so it lacked the crunch that freshly fried you tiaos would. It was still better than the Zhar Leong.
鮮鯇魚片粥 (HKD 12)
Thin congee packed with ingredients.
Not the most outstanding of breakfasts, the parents found the food too salty. The most ordinary of food eaten though. For once, the native crowds were not a precise gauge of how tasty the food is.
