Al Forno Tapas and Wine Bar @ East Coast Road

DSC_2248 Al Forno has opened up a more casual joint a stone's throw away from the flagship and the vibes are clearly different here.

Burrata Cheese with Cherry Tomatoes ($18)

I love my burratas fat and creamy, theirs fits the bill and the grouse is having to share this baby. Comes with olive oil spiked cherry tomatoes and a side of crusty bread. So much win!

Paccheri Pasta with Prawns, Scallops, Garlic, Chilli in Pink Sauce ($24)

Served in parchment paper, this red cream based pasta wows at first sight. Al dente paccheri pasta pieces tossed in cream sauce and cooked with scallops and prawns. It can get very heavy to consume if one is not sharing but do save space for it - definitely worth the calories!

Oven Baked Boneless Chicken with Rosemary ($23)

This was absolutely disappointing with just one boneless chicken fillet and it looked so haphazardly put together,

Al Forno Sandwich ($18)
Mayo, Scamorza Cheese, Pork Ham, Grilled Zucchini, Chopped Tomato

Carnivoro ($18)
Sliced Roast Beef, Onions, Scamorza Cheese, Sliced Tomatoes

The holy grail is in their sandwiches and with flavours attempted, I am leaning towards Carnivoro for more heartyness.  Think thick crusty fluffy bread slices, melted cheese and vegetables with whichever pairing protein. I'd not have expected them to present such finger licking yummy sandwiches and they did.
