I've read and heard so much about food at Air Itam and that place is seriously studded with so many food gems. I have to stay around the area to be able to check off the signatures even. From dawn to dusk, there is something delicious around the corner.
So a special trip was made just for this assam laksa stall - it is almost impossible to miss since banners are plastered all over leading you to this famous one.
With business hours running from 1030am till 7pm, there is no time restriction at least!
We first start off with a handful of laksa noodles and coriander.
Look at that pot of prawn paste sauce, every bowl gets a generous drizzle.
All for RM 4.80.
The gravy is so rich, I'd imagine the kilos of sardines that went into that bubbling cauldron of stock. Not to mention the meaty chunks, onions and prawn paste that made heaven out of this bowl. Sharing is absolutely not an option and seriously, the best I've ever had in Penang. Boo to imposters because this is definitely the real deal like what CNN claims.
