Truffle Mushroom Cheese Fries ($12)
Straight Cut Fries served with Sauteed Wild Mushrooms and Truffle Butter, Topped with Melted Cheese
The oil smell was too strong and fries overcooked with oil dripping. A letdown already though visually tantalizing with that drippy cheese but well, I was deceived.
Chicken Lolli ($14)
Deep Fried Chicken Drumlets Tossed with Sauteed Onions, Capsicum and Lemon Chili Butter
Once again, the frozen chicken smell was very obvious even with the batter, deep frying and lemon chili butter.
Duck Breast ($16)
Grilled Duck Breast Served with Sambal Butter
Finally, a tapas course that deserves some serious mention. I'm not sure if it is the grilled duck breast, the sambal butter or the toppings of pickled capsicums that made the world of difference. Very appetizing and tasty, the duck breast slices and occasional hae bi would have been perfect as a main course!
Beer and Shells
Fresh Vongole and Mussel Sautéed with Lemon Chili Butter, Onions. Simmered with Tangerine Wheat Beer
I can hardly resist shells and beer in that order. Throw in a piquant lemon chili butter and you've got a sealed deal there.
Set lunches came with a soft drink and supplement top ups for soup or salad.
Grilled Beef Wrap ($10.90)
Just a wrap stuffed with greens and grilled beef which was a good grab and go option - for those without fussy cravings and wish for some quiet respite over lunch.
And a soft drink to chill the afternoon away, pretty good deal here!
It is laudable to know how seriously they take their butter, except there were hits and misses for us and the tapas fared better than their lunch sets which may warrant another visit for the mains. Portions for tapas are surprisingly bigger than the set lunch so I say stick with their tapas to be filled.
