Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse replaces Ristorante Bologna at Marina Mandarin.
The hungry ones headed for the classic menu – priced at $120 which is a steal when their steak mains start from $90.
Lovely orchids in the restaurant.
An interesting way to light the table up.
Good enough for the ravenous.
Sizzlin’ Blue Crab Cakes ($35)
Two jumbo lump crab cakes with sizzling lemon butter
I
place Hyatt Bar’s crabcakes tops for breaded and these as tops for
panfried crab cakes. I adore the chunks of crabmeat that made this so
delicious. Nothing fancy just crabmeat and butter.
Roasted Tomato Soup with Crab and Julienne Basil
A
very comforting vegetable soup with a dash of crab and basil – for
once, a soup actually stood out for being vegetarian rather than
carnivorous.
Panzanella Salad with Mixed Baby Greens, tossed in a Vinaigrette Dressing
On the oily side, this salad was no doubt our only take on eating clean.
Petit Filet (170 grams) and Shrimp
Filet
Mignon grilled to such pinkness, this had to be the yummiest filet
mignon eaten.
The shrimp was a letdown however, too soft for liking.
Ribeye ($110)
16 ounce, USDA Prime
Described
as “deliciously juicy”, I can totally understand why.
This cut packs a
lot more succulence and juice than the petit fillet. Loved the searing
done and it felt so good being carnivorous and a beef eater in a
steakhouse.
Grilled Asparagus
Mashed Potato
Sauteed Mushrooms
Creamed Spinach
The sides were good enough for us to wipe them all so clean.
Macaroni and Cheese
We topped up with a Macaroni and Cheese, one up from Kenny Roger’s with the crispy bits and melted cheese in shell macaroni.
Cheesecake and Seasonal Berries with Sweet Cream
Signature
from their dessert trolley, ours was part of the set meal and came
served in a miniature version. Almost perfect with the fluffy texture
and berries but the sweet cream was a tad too bland for fancy.
Comforting tea to end.
