The Chop House @ Vivocity

The Chop House under Wooloomooloo Group is not the latest to join the slew of dining establishments at Vivocity but I was inclined to visit it after two failed visits, one I attribute to a sudden closure for renovation.

Set lunches are always affordable affairs and even so at The Chop House. Priced at $19.90++, the two course meal gave adequate choices.

Tuna Tartare
Yellow fin tuna marinated with wasabe, mayonnaise and chives served with mixed salad

Refreshing raw fish salad with just the right amount of flavouring.

Crispy Calamari
Coated and fried calamari served with coleslaw

Light and not too greasy, these doubled up as great snacks before our mains arrived.

Australian Grass Fed Tenderloin
Tenderloin served with mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables and red wine sauce

A surprise find on the menu since they specialise in grilled meats and usually their specialties are not featured in set menus.

A lovely tender cut but marred by overmarination with salt.

The trio of condiments.

A side of fries to munch on.

The hilarity about this is - we wanted milkshake and the waiter offered an oreo smoothie in return being the closest to milkshake. And all this was, was an oreo blend which the waiter then rebutted "but I already said it's not milkshake".

An affordable showcase of their menu however, worth another visit!
