Abbotega is the chic-er cousin of Guildo's that was fully booked till 1030pm. We sauntered there in the cold and were grateful for seats at least - which we regretted thereafter.
Napkins.
The rest of the bouncing lounge - every other table had a bread basket and not us. I shall not even get started on this.
Pork shank that was a replacement for fish, the most decent dish for the night. Well flavoured pork with a delicious mash.
Beef Marbre, Pomegranate, Steamed Brocolli and Green Sauce (14 EUR)
Beef straight out of the fridge in all its jellied glory.
Noodles in Tomato Sauce Piccadilly, Basil and Stacciatelle Cheese (12.50 EUR)
This took eternity to arrive. 45 minutes into the meal I was so close to throwing in the towel and walking off when it finally made its grand dame entrance. Soggy noodles with too much sauce but the buffalo cheese was delicious - creamy and rich. I wonder what went into the long wait.
We could barely stay any longer beyond the dishes, not even for drinks.
