I received a special cake delivery from J who decided to be sugar, spice and all things nice. Since we only tried the checker's cake and original crepe cake, the rest were equally enticing. These had to be pre-ordered for takeaway so the hype is still going strong.
Green Tea Mousse Cake ($8)
A better take on the layers than the checker's cake, the light sponge cake and cream were a beautiful symphony.
Banana Mille Feuille ($8)
Delicate pastry layers sandwiching banana chunks and slapped on with a ton of cream. Enough cream infact to lose sight of the original flavour. Nonetheless kudos for the pretty number that remained pretty intact and not get soggy.
Fruit Tart ($10)
The best of the three with a dense crunchy base with almond frangipane above and lastly topped with fruits and cream. The cream was well balanced here with the rest of the ingredients.
Their cakes are well creamed, perhaps more suited to the American tastebuds and here we deem it heavy and somewhat cloying.
