I am a sucker for all things limited edition and seasonal. Being a huge fan of Windowsill, it was purely by chance that I dropped by on a day that they had stashed away slices of their soon-to-be launched christmas flavour. Boy, I was piqued when I learnt of the secret stash!

Flavours of yesteryears go to the tune of prune and cherry if I'm not wrong. This year's flavour is Chestnut Orange ($8) - a playful marriage of icing chestnuts and orange marmalade. This appeared a tad dense, almost like a cake instead of the pies that they are familiar with - which has been the direction they have taken for Christmas. Loved the icing chestnut, a treat only found in Europe and tends to be blood chilling sweet yet they pulled off a mildly sweet and decadently moist version.
Await this at their shop sometime in December - a sweet alternative to logcakes, gingerbread houses and fruitcake!
