Tiong Bahru Bakery Revisited @ Raffles City

Rain always causes plans to be disrupted and to play safe, we took refuge at Raffles City and settled for good old Tiong Bahru Bakery for brunch. It is a good thing that brunch options are far and few within the vacinity though Union Soup seems to have hopped on the brunch bandwagon too!

smoked salmon

Brown Salmon Bun ($8.50)

Delicious smoked salmon number with just the right amount of ingredients.

sandwich

Mozzarella and Ham Foccacia ($8)

One salty affair expected with the generous use of cheese and ham. The bitter rockets made this not so enjoyable though.

Magic ($6.50)

I don't suppose they do great coffee, still not convinced with this Magic number that is heavy on coffee instead of milk.

Kouign Aman ($4)

Kouign-amann,  worthy of a signature tag. As much as it is hard to get it fresh out of the oven, this sweet delight is always worth a try.

Apple Brioche ($4.20)

Broiche bun that usually looks better than it tastes and no surprise this time round either.

croissant

Chocolate and Almond Croissant

Still a favourite with the gummy texture and crispy exterior.

lemon tart

Lemon Meringue Tart

They seemed to have changed their receipe again for their zesty tarts.  Lemon curd was too stiff but the flavours were refreshing, I would very much prefer a wobbly curd.

Tiong Bahru Bakery still remains a place for good dessert and selectively good sandwiches.
