Suggee cake first appeared in my radar of interest a couple of years back when ST ran their famous series of "Top 50 cakes" - By Indian Muslim Confectionery. They only sold them by the kilos ($40/kg..the last I heard! 3 days notice.) and I wasn't sure then and even now if I will take to suggee cake...afterall, suggee cookies have hardly won me over.
Chin Mee Chin offered me a cheaper alternative at $10 per cake.
Half the height of Bengawan Solo's cakes, these are considerably short in height.
Crumbly and dry with a significant butter fragrance.
Not a fan of the cake version of the cookie either.
It could be just CMC though, for the cupcakes have the same old school consistency.
