Chef Daniel's Kitchen Revisited @ iLuma

Since the last I went, prices have gone up. Whatever was $10.50 nett has been re-priced as Executive Set Lunch to the tunes of $16.50 nett while a completely new menu is put together for the price conscious Deluxe Set Lunch. Nonetheless, the place was still fairly packed for a weekend.

cutlery

The usual shot.

soup

Portions of soup are larger for the Executive Set Lunch...not that it really mattered. Soup of the day was Seafood Soup...hearty one with clams and vegetables.

curried bread

Paired with Curried Bread, I thought it was delicious.

teriyaki chicken

Grilled Chicken
Teriyaki sauce, tomato, french fries

Teriyaki sauce was a tad sweet. Inspite of it, the plump tender chicken was well grilled.

siamese strip

Siamese Striploin
Lime and lemongrass vinaigrette, french fries

Portions were not as small nor as thin as pointed out by the disgruntled netizens..

fish and chips

Fish and Chips
Tartare sauce

Herbed fish and chips instead of the usual breaded fish cutlets. There was an aftertaste unique to doryfish and somehow I did not fancy it too much here.

dessert

Lemongrass and Mango Cheesecake

Odd. This was definitely not how I envisioned lemongrass and mango cheesecake to be. The only source of comfort came from.

Service remains as sub par as they used to be, waiters and waitresses who barely have a decent grasp of English..serious issues here, methinks. Still value for money set lunches though nothing too wow about it.
