It was meant to be Stellar but it was closed for a private event. Then the alcoholic brought me to 1-Altitude..world's highest al fresco gastro bar at 282 metres above sea level. Certainly did not feel that way...with only gusts of freezing cold wind to tell the height difference from land. Located on the top most floor of OUB Center, there are dining and sports bar options just a level below. I hear there are great beer and golf-simulator deals available!
Cover charge of $15 gets you entry and a drink.You get led up to the bar in a routine manner, pick up your drink before heading up. The flights of stairs are most unfriendly for stilettos, I was half wishing and praying the heel did not get caught in the spaces.
Cranberry Vodka that was simply cranberry juice. Mojito that should have been renamed lime juice. You get the drift. I probably enjoyed the peanuts better than my drink.
Kitchen closes at about 11pm on weekdays so not that condusive for midnight nibbles.
Honestly, in such darkness, world's tallest or not...it probably did not make too huge a difference. The view did not quite wow the way I would have expected...plus, the music spun had a disconnect with the ambience. Still a fan of Cityspace's view.
