The Dad always gets me amused whenever he buys us sweet treats from any pau store. For one, he is a true blue hardcore carnivore. Historically proven, never a dessert person. He would wrinkle his face and grunt in disagreement whenever I offered a sweet something to him. So when he caught the dessert bug early this year, I was literally in fits from the transformation.

Egg Tart
This had the kind of flaky tart base that I did not like with the custard so eggy and thick. Definitely not for the tastebuds spoilt rotten by Tong Heng or Tai Cheong.
Ma Lai Goh
I grew up eating this pillowy soft chinese sponge cake and it's really one of the better ones as compared to the other pau stalls.
Dessert paus with such thick yet delicious pau bread. The uneven thickness and unequal blobs of filling makes traditional handmade pau irresistible.
Post-Tanjong Rhu 鸳鸯包-dissonance and that kind of made me create my own 鸳鸯包 no matter what. Somehow red bean tends to overshadow lotus paste but having both in one bun is yum!
