A thing or two about Pretzels: Kupsch Supermart Takeaway

We still found time to indulge in our favouritest past time ever...grocery shopping! The stuff we lugged back will be featured separately but in true Singaporean style, no matter which continent, which province...which town, throw us a supermart and all will be happy. Kupsch is the main supermarket chain in Wurzburg, one of the stops of the Romantic Road in Germany. It is as extensive as Carrefour but smaller in size.

We decided to give their takeaway counter a chance and ended up with a Mehrkornhornchen (0,75€) and Granatsplitter (1,55€).

The pretzel threw no surprises with the tougher bread than the rest attempted. This was not scattered with coarse salt, just sesame seeds.

Granatsplitter is a German specialty, they are also known as shrapnels, made of butter cream, cocoa and rum. Supposedly the worst dessert the sis ever tasted, with a sponge so soaked...eating it was unbearable.

We should have known better than to takeaway from a supermart than the cake shops outside!
