This year is totally not my year for dumplings. After a jawdropping start off from Jade...things were weebit better with Hiong Kee. We should have rightfully gotten the year's supply from Hoo Kee's or our favourite Pine Court but Hoo Kee closed its orders a month before and feeling like a change, we opted not to continue with the deeeeeelish offerings from Pine Court.
This post totally sounds like post purchase dissonance, but it really is!
Chicken Dumplings and Pork Dumplings for the two camps at home. Unlike Jade's undercooked dumpling, Hiong Kee's were overcooked! Rice too clumpy and soft with rice so bland, I wonder if there was a strike in the kitchen.
Nonya Dumpling for the diehard at home. On the sweet side though better flavoured than the savoury ones.
Lesson learnt; stick with the familiar.
