Spageddies used to be a place of the past, a notch higher than Pizzahut during the schooling days. Once housed at Tanglin Mall, yet another at Paragon...these have somehow shut its doors and reopened at Orchard Central.
Location-wise, it is not accessible from the carpark that is. By the end of all the twirling down the stairs, dead ends experienced, I felt like a mouse trapped in a maze.

Yet another open concept kitchen that fills the place with food smells.
Tomato Basil Bruschetta
Toasted italian loaf topped with fresh tomatoes, garlic, basil & seasoned olive oil.
Certainly wasn't expecting much but the bruschetta's yum! Garlic bread with a salsa bed.
Hawaiian Pizza
None too impressive somehow. Apart from the melted cheese strings, the bread and ingredients were overall bland.
Crayfish Parmigiana
Sauteed crayfish with spicy neapolitan topped with mozzarella served with spaghetti aglio olio.
Dishes should never be fully judged based on the graphics. Crayfish like most seafood shrivel and shrink beyond comprehension when cooked. Fresh crayfish medallions with tasty well tossed spaghetti.
Chicken Scallopini
Chicken medallions sauteed in a lemon butter sauce with bacon, tomatoes & mushrooms, served on a bed of spaghetti.
I used to be a huge fan of this, a must order for every visit and once, I even declared it the best pasta ever.
Then.
The first bite changed everything. Sour. Sour. Sour. Too much lemon in the butter, it tasted too heavy on the vinegar, it became an unpleasant sour. Finishing it was harder than thought.
It always saddens me when places I've grown up with leaves me with such distaste. Our tastebuds get sharpened overtime and it is inevitable food of the past does not taste as great anymore.
Yet.
There's still this part of me that wishes it did.
