Grill Out! @ Orchard Central

Grill Out! was most unintentional, in fact the gf and I were en route to Ootoya before we were hijacked by it.

Hidden on the same level as Din Tai Fung, Grill Out boasts of a panaromic view of a less frantic Orchard. There are indoor and al fresco dining options, I would not recommend al fresco in the scorching afternoon despite the very enticing ambience complete with bird cages and plants.

Slabs of raw meat greet you at the counter should you decide to "inspect" the cut of meat served to you. The concept's almost like Greenwood Fish Market and the likes of Swiss Butchery.

1-for-1 set lunch, $23++
Drink, Mains, Soup, Starch

Iced Lemon Tea that required syrup.

Soup of the day was seafood chowder, there was the option of topping up $2 for cream of mushroom. Visually, both were not pleasing...thick viscous soup, they certainly tasted better than they looked. The only hint of seafood were the shellfish ends thrown in. Of the two, seafood chowder fared better.

Satchets of pepper and salt to taste!

Cajun Chicken
Chargrilled Boneless Chicken Thigh served with Cajun Sauce

Cajun Chicken was less outstanding, ordinary in fact.

USA Kurobuta Pork T-Bone
Chargrilled T Bone served with Apple Sauce

Kurobuta Pork sealed the deal for me though beef was equally attractive. Portions were surprisingly generous for a "1-for-1" promotion. The side salad was reminiscent of an overdue seasonal item - yusheng. Not a fan of the sweet-sour-oriental-western version of salad.

I would have expected starch to be fries but the "starch of the day" was roast potatoes...say "hooray" in a deadpanned tone. However, simplicity rules sometimes and for Grilled Out, it worked. Well smoked potatoes.

Tender slab of pork sans the "porky smell" some places have. Paired with apple sauce and puree, in simple words...I liked it enough.

Not too bad an experience at Grilled Out, a value for money lunch set indeed.
