Bread Society @ Ion

Placing food behind see through windows/glass panels has to be one of the greatest vices of bakers. To tempt and tease, throw some flirty glances...the deal is pretty much sealed when the price tag is agreed upon.

Bread Society, a more atas spin off from Bread Talk. I've been wanting to try something, anything in fact from their hot ovens for quite awhile now. Not sure what beckoned me, I reckon the temptation was too much to bear by looking at them goodies behind the cold hard glass.

Chicken Sausage Pizza ($2.80)

A bite into this large square pizza was a greasy affair, fingers, lips...teeth almost! It really does not rival the Pizza boys as the bread used is lighter, instead of the usual chewy doughy base. Found this tasty enough to ignore the social image, munching through a filling pizza and licking the fingers.

Custard Brioche ($1.80)

Sliced like you would to a pizza, the custard brioche was a sweet version of pizza. Almost the same light bread used (a tad dry) with a layer of custard.

Uniquely Japanese I say, of the experience at Bread Society. From the chef, to the cheery ladies...to the bakes even. Mont Blanc Tart beckons...argh, the curse of the food behind glass!
