Manzhu 4 @ Chinese Swimming Club

Amusingly, CSC's the only place alive that I order the same old thing visit after visit. Choices are what I relish, same goes for different food experiences with new dishes. Weirdly enough only for CSC, it pleases me most knowing that I enjoyed my meal with such repeats.

Apricot Orange Smoothie ($3.70)

The only new attempt at smoothie that was obviously straight off a pack with fresh cream squirted. Apricot and orange is quite a first but surprisingly pulled it off quite nicely!

Chicken Burger ($4.80)

The one consistently good chicken burger that I keep going back for. Normally chicken patties are limp and lacking in meaty bite but Manzhu's satisfies with a juicy chicken patty.

Toasty, Juicy, Meaty.

The dollop of salsa is such a tease, I always wish they were more generous with the tangy appetizer.

Chicken Rice Set

Decent take on our local favourite with fragrant rice and tender chicken.

Laksa

Another decent one with lemak coconut gravy and the usual works of tau pok, fish cake and boiled egg..lacking some punch though.

Pecan Pie ($5.50)

The only other place whose pecan pie gets me floored is Swissbake's. Somehow roasted pecans and pies remind me of christmas. Nice, firm tart base with plenty of crunchy pecans...!

Ice Kachang ($2.90)

One of those desserts that appeal mainly because of the mountain of shaved ice and coloured syrup. Not a huge fan of ice kachang though the sweet corn and red beans kept me slurping.

Cheng Tng ($2.60)

I've tasted way better, was just ordinary.

  1. I agree that swissbake has excellent pecan pie! Moist and not overly sweet! :)
