This is so overdue but nonetheless still within the timeframe for mooncakes! Due to work, I had the privilege of being invited to be "flown to the moon"...nearly. I raved about Cityspace and its breathtaking views and this time...the launch was scheduled for Helipad! *hyperventilates*

Up the stairs...littered with rose petals and candle lights...uber romantic.

Boxes and boxes of mooncakes...loving the new design! The powder blue...the pearl necklace...they should have thrown in a pearl necklace at least! Fairmont's design always wows, year after year...appealing to the feminine side of the customers. Last year they had the detachable mirror which was simply ingenious.

Premium collection anyone?

Live demonstration of snowskin mooncake making.

Fingerfood all around. Crabmeat soup.
And of course, the freeflow mooncakes.

Their latest offering replacing last year's Strawberry Chocolate is Mini Snow-skin Feulletine-Hazelnut with Wafer Crunch Nuts Mooncake ($45). The essence of all their snowskin mooncakes lie in the chocolate "yolk", this one blew me away, the crunchy milky combination...tasted just like kinder bueno. The snowskin's soft yet chewy and really addictive, being so bite-sized I can just eat it for a meal.

The all time favourite, Mini Snow-Skin Rum & Raisin Chocolate Truffle Mooncake ($46). My personal favourite is Mini Snow-Skin Champagne Truffle & Chocolate Ganache Mooncake ($48). The best part of the launch was the chocolates without the lotus paste or snowskin, potent stuff! Pop one into your mouth, the rest I say in all the brain freeze, lethal!
I prefer their snowskin to the baked ones which are still delicious, just not that outstanding.

Pine Nuts, White Lotus Paste, Red Lotus Paste, Macadamia..not much surprise this year with the Baked mooncakes. They removed the Mixed Nut one though.

CBD in the early evening.

By night...
Pity the haze got in the way, if not...I could touch the moon...! 76 storeys up...the feeling is almost "on the top of the world"..it felt like a wedding somehow (musicians included) only missing the Bride and Groom. Thousands of calories later...Fairmont Szechuan Court made a statement this Mid-Autumn with Feulletine-Hazelnut.
