Tsui Wah @ Tsim Sha Tsui, Hongkong

Tsui Wah is one of the more popular cha chan tengs around and like Hui Lau Shan, it dots every walkable street. The main branch is just opposite Yung Kee at Wellington Street.

Bright and eye-catching...love them signs!

Tsui Wah gone upmarket.

I wonder why the Hongkies are still so slim when they eat at ungodly hours! Every eatery is nearly filled if not packed with people.

Once again, all in chinese..that bit of the past Singapore never quite had.

Napkins to complete their green-yellows.

We have fishball noodles, they have Fishcake Noodles with fishballs. Their fish balls and fishcakes are very different in terms of bite. The noodles were just okay, just good for warming the tum.

Fried Fish Skin with Soup.

The fried fish skins are like keropok, so crunchy and crispy...you'd not stop at one! These are lightly dusted with salt...the amazing bit of it..no trace of oil! Neither does it smell of it. Don't fancy it crispy, dip it into the soup...equally delish.

Crispy Pork Chop Bun (HKD 22)

Signature of Tsui Wah. I wish I had more than one of them. The lightly toasted butter bread sandwiching a thick juicy pork chop. There's a portion of gherkins and lettuce generously slapped with butter and mayo. I've never quite eaten such a succulent non-fatty piece of pork chop before. The mere thought of it makes me drool! Why don't the Hongkong Cafes here even offer this?

Another signature, Crispy Bun with Condensed Milk (HKD 12).

Sounds ordinary but the bun tastes much like the Pork Chop Bun, it's got a Mcmuffin kind of consistency, chewy and doughy. Condensed milk never tasted so good till this one.

Don't leave Hongkong until you've tried their Milk Tea, chilled or hot. Both are good equivalents of our Teh-C.

Service is so prompt, within minutes of placing your order the food arrives. I'll consider it fastfood, only more wholesome.
