Rise and shine for the most important meal of a day (on a public holiday!). To Depot Bakery the girls and I headed to despite the ridiculous timing of 9am, for our regular gatherings. I dig the breakfast hustle and bustle, tea/coffee brewing..toast fragrance in the air.
We weren't exactly the earliest given the place was packed at 9am with families, couples, like-minded friends.
The girlies had the scone set which consists of a hot scone with strawberry jam and icing sugar with tea/coffee of choice. I stole a nibble of the rather huge scone, rather flaky it is and not buttery at all unlike the normal scones.

My digestive system wasn't up and awake yet so I ordered the devilish looking fruit nut bun with sticky coconut icing otherwise known as "vanilla ice bun". I had it toasted and the coconut whiffs made me super hungry. It's a fruity nutty chewy bun.
I had a go at the floury looking mexican cookie after the memorable ones that Four Leaves used to have. It's got chunks of hazelnuts and peanuts in the crumbly biscuit topped with icing sugar. Albeit small but delicious otherwise.

Food wise, it's good ole american breakfast minus all the oily fried bacons and scrambled eggs. Service is fuss free and prompt. Frankel's one of those places that allows people watching and whiling away of time rather leisurely, we clocked in close to three hours! I shall return for the malicious wicked looking Banana meringue pie next!
