Le Shrimp Ramen @ Paragon

~Invited Session~

Le Shrimp opens at Paragon with much fanfare - including their opening weekend's 1-for-1 promotion that sent them such long and snaking queues. They are since known as the place for shrimp ramen - publicity well played!

Le Signature Trio Shrimp Ramen ($19.90)
Handmade ebido prawn paste, prawn dumplings, fresh prawns

The broth is a Japan inspired shrimp broth and you can choose from three different noodle varieties: thick vermicelli, chinese ramen or rice noodle. There is also a choice to upsize the noodle or soup and even with soup there is a choice of shrimp or tonkotsu.

So then the noodles were alright, not particularly springy or soggy. My main grouse is in their chaos, they probably overlooked presentation and my bowl came with a tad too much soup. I liked the assortment of ingredients especially the fish roe balls and actually did not mind the soup too much. Prawn soup is not exactly my favourite of broths but this worked.

Red Garoupa with Pickled Vegetable Tonkotsu Ramen ($18.90)

Pickled vegetables made this sour and spicy which was fine, except the noodles itself were also salted hence making this saltier than desired.

The fish slices were tender though!

La mian is quite their specialty and this is their portion, upsized!

Twister Prawn Rolls ($5.90)

Not to be missed is this appetizer, anything fried and with mayo works and so did this.

This Chinese ramen place is up and coming, prices are definitely on the higher side and for me, the other concepts under Paradise Group appeals more.
