~Invited Session~
Ellenbourough Market Café joins the stables of hotels without a Chinese restaurant and want to offer diners a slice of CNY, by offering set menus for booking.
On duty that night was the God of Prosperity!
Can you spot how many different variations of Salmon Yu Sheng appeared? Every table had a different design! Talk about one of a kind.
The aftermath of all the tossing.
Remember to get a glass or two of these refreshing sugar cane drinks. Helps with all the heatyness from all the CNY goodies.
Double-boiled Fish Maw with Dried Scallop and Cordycep Flower
On the bitter side, I enjoyed this though - I guess one can never take the cantonese roots out of a cantonese. So rhetorical but I have a soft spot for double boiled soups.
Imperial Herbal Chicken was so tender, the meat fell off so easily and this was easily another soup dish with chockfuls of goodness.
Hong Kong Style Fried Garoupa wowed in portions, especially during chinese new year where whole fishes are eaten for a shot at a prosperous year ahead.
Wok-fried Asparagus with Pearl Scallop in XO Sauce
My highlight of the meal, the scallops in xo sauce made everything in the dish tasty.
Braised Abalone and Sea Cucumber with Australian Broccoli
Abalones made this dish tick and I was gleefully reaching out for seconds.
Fried Glutinous Rice Wrapped in Lotus Leaf
Double-boiled "Hasma" with Red Dates
I could not resist a helping of my two favourites from their buffet line - durian pengat and yam icecream. Sounds rancid? Well, only at Ellenborough.
These dishes are available to diners at Ellenborough Market Café this CNY and the selling point of this menu is the entirely customizable yusheng design. There were 5 different designs at the dinner and I cheekily chimed, what if I asked for a corgi yusheng?
Seems it can be done, ask and be given!
Prices are $68/adult, $34/child for lunch, and $80/adult, $40/child for dinner.
