Anti:dote Revisited @ Fairmont Hotel

Somewhere between having tried their high tea sets and post dinner drinks, I was actually interested to check out lunch at Anti:dote, which I largely attribute to the lobster roll on the menu.

Beer Briased Pork Belly Slider ($22)
Leafy Green, Pickled Mustard, Grain Bun

I would have expected these sliders to be bite sized and cute enough to fit into my palm. It was a smoked pork belly burger, in size. A reasonably tasty burger with mustard smeared buns.

Wagyu Beef Burger ($24)
Aged Angus Beef Patty, Gruyere Cheese, Pickles, Black Pepper Bun, French Fries

Less than stellar with burnt bread buns, overcooked patty (medium was ordered and medium well it arrived), it just was not the burger that I was looking for.

Pan Roasted Sea Bass ($26)
Tomato Salsa, Leafy Salad, Radish, Burnt Butter Shoyu

Burnt butter shoyu perfumed the dish and that itself was half the battle won. I loved the crispy skins and toasted flesh, all of praise for this easy to flop dish.

Char Grilled Beef Wrap ($18)
Baby Romaine, Tomato, Bean Sprouts, Spicy Shoyu Dressing

Having had an incredibly bad yet ridiculously huge wrap at Raffles City basement, this was in comparison the skinny cousin and packed with way more flavour too! I loved the spicy shoyu dressing that was a highlight and boy, so tasty!

Club Sandwich ($16)
Avocado, Egg, Tomato, Lettuce, Seaweed Butter, French Fries, Grilled Chicken Breast (+$6)

Standing tall with three storeys high, this all time classic sandwiches of all sandwiches had a hint of old school in it with bread edges trimmed and toasted.

Lobster Roll ($29)
Fresh Poached Maine Lobster, Multi-Grain Bun, Homemade Potato Chips

Lobster rolls may have ran the end of the road with its hype but I cannot resist a lobster roll when I see one. These come with a choice of bread, charcoal or multi grain brioche buns. The lobster was mostly mayo topped with two lobster claws and caviar. For the price, it does offer a satisfying meal and certainly heaps better than the tons of cheap lobster rolls that are nowhere half as satisfying.

Black or white, both were equally delicious.

If ala carte does not appeal, their wallet friendly $28++ set lunches will.
