Duck Master @ People's Park Complex

Duck Master since making its appearance on Makansutra has been flooded with orders. $15 a poultry and it ain't the usual roast chicken, we are talking about duck - the perceived higher value of the two.

Minimally a two hour wait for the earlier days of the fanaticism, thank goodness they have implemented a queue system for orders to be logged first and collected later.

So how does this measure up against all the other roast ducks that are commanding easily double this price? By the way, chopping it up on your own costs an additional $3.

Skin was crispy without reheating a good 2 hours after collection, meat was tender yet salty at uneven parts of the duck. I'm not sure how we ended up with 4 drumsticks and no wings, but nobody was complaining!

Clearly this is no London Fat Duck which is prized for the amount of fat under the skin, regular roast duck that is smaller than the usual but with an attractive price tag.

While many rave about the chilli, it tasted like sweet belachan and I'd very much prefer something sour and more heat!

With high ambitions to earn the much coveted Michelin Star, I say all the quack luck Duck Master! One can only hope against hope they do not earn the accolade else it would mean taking queue numbers for collection later in the week!

Opening hours are 10am – 10pm (Monday to Friday), 9am – 10pm (Saturday and Sunday).
