Machi Cheese

I love my mochi from Japan to Taiwan and China and instead of the usual fillings, these famed Taiwanese exports are a blanket over cheesecake bars. Machi Cheese or so it's fondly known as has been a favourite souvenir to lug home with the thoughtful packaging of the owner - they remained frozen and still as fresh though I collected my love package from a dear friend 2 days after her touch down.

Those chewy mochi rolls are best eaten on their own and likewise for their cheesecake bars since they do not even stick together! That said, lovely icy treats just not quite worth the effort to lug back, methinks. If I had to rank, chocolate ranks tops next to mango.
