I grew up with Ah Soon Bak Kut Teh, literally. Gone are the days where I had to wait 2 hours on top of the 2 hour jam at the Causeway just to partake of this. The amazing things we do for food and I realise it runs in the family.
So then, we made it a point to revisit this old familiar joint.
Theirs is a herbal and peppery broth with pork ribs chopped to bite sized. Indeed, it may lose out in the heartyness of biting into a rib so large and meaty but the broth more than made up for this.
I can never get by a meal of Bak Kut Teh and not order any sides.
Personal favourites include lard laden preserved vegetables and tau pok.
