Xin Cuisine Revisited @ Holiday Inn Atrium

Xin Cuisine has been an all time favourite and we headed there for more of their comforting dishes.

duck

'Homestyle' Roast Duck with Tea Leaves ($52)

We tried something new this time, crispy duck that could have passed off as an ordinary roast duck. The tea leaf taste was lacking here though and despite their claims that this is the number 1 tea duck in Singapore, I questioned the validity of the statement.

chickcen

Sauteed Chicken with Dried Chilli, Spring Onion and Cashew Nut ($24)

Served piping hot and so well flavoured, the sauteed chicken was so tender.

yam ring

Modern day take on yam basket with yam slices painstakingly put together in a basket form.

salted egg prawns

Deep Fried Prawn with Salted Egg Yolk and Pumpkin Sauce ($42)

Nothing short of amazing, the copious amounts of egg yolk in pumpkin sauce coating each prawn was such a case of cholesterol suicide.

tofu

'Home-style' Stewed Beancurd with Sea Cucumber Served in Casserole ($42)

Another kept hot in a stone cast pot and was a very hearty dish with chunks of seafood, vegetables and tofu.

eefu noodles

Braised Eefu Noodles with Waxed Sausage, Roast Pork, Diced Shrimp and Chives ($27)

Decent springy noodles with such bounce and flavour, we were all kept happy.

I still count on Xin Cuisine for comforting food but the same cannot be said of their service level - hinging on pretentious and snotty.
