menu

A menu with simple design.

pool view

The pool view was tranquil but we also risked getting fed to the mozzies.

insect repellent

A thoughtful gesture by the restaurant.

amuse bouche

Amuse bouche of a bread slice with a savoury topping - delightful though I can barely remember what it is!

mushrooms

Sour Duck Soup

This is a lot easier on the palette, with sweet undertones in the mushrooms and duck.  Heartier and easy to pair with rice.

soups

Tom Yum Soup

The spice level of this thai delicacy was too fiery to handle. The delicious burns whatever it comes into contact with and leaves such a spicy trail, it takes an addiction to pain to embrace this with open arms and an open mouth. This is one dish that made me go – someone finally understood the beauty of thai cuisine and brought it to fruition in one single broth dish. The country may be in shambles politically but the rich culture shines through its food.

rice

Our beautifully plated rice.

slurp

Crab and Duck

This cream based dish made rice such a perfect accompaniment with the dishes.

Not forgetting the duck that came with it - slivers of roasted bliss.

fish

Bamboo fish braised with wild ginger and asian celery (700 THB)

I usually scoff fish dishes and this was a mellow version of braised fish with a pile of asian herbs and condiments. Very likeable and a refreshing respite from their spicy alternatives.

pork neck

Grilled pork cheek with smoky tomato sauce (600 THB)

I love pork cheek, despite this part of the pig being the highest in purine levels. Char grilled pieces of tender meat, the smoky tomato sauce was quite a lovely smoky contrast.

rambutan

Rambutan in scented syrup with thai cup cakes (280 THB)

Rambutans have to be the most underrated tropical fruits for dessert.

thai pancakes

These were soaked in a fruity syrup and served with scallion thai pancakes – we could not have picked a better dessert though mango sticky rice would have been the most close to heart for thai dessert.

One of an epic meal at Nahm, our senses were brought onto a journey.

It made me wonder, is the finest Thai cuisine finally understood by a non-Thai?
