SodaStream: Homemade Sodas for every occasion!

Special thanks to Nuffnang and SodaStream for the loan!

I remember raving about the SodaStream machine at SAVOUR2013. Who ever thought that homemade soda was possible and way more affordable than those at the marts?

Fix the carbonator right at the back of the machine and we are ready to test!

Fill the bottle up till the mark and fasten it tight. Sit back, relax and watch the magic happen.

With a press of a single button, carbonated water is made in seconds. Depending on the fizziness you desire, the last button is meant for cola. Set the bubbles free, is their slogan and true enough - I got a bottle of soda with a snap of a finger.

Yes that easy, achieved in seconds, even faster than trying to juice a fruit.

Flavour the soda with their range of 100 SodaStream flavored syrups including leading regular and diet flavors. The range of flavors includes cola, lemon-lime, pink grapefruit, red berry mix, apple, orange, exotic fruit flavors, energy drinks, ice tea and cocktail mixers.

I had a go at Apple and Orange Mango. Each bottle of syrup can produce 12 litres of soda which can be enjoyed on their own or blended with alcohol or fruit juice.

Hello Apple, a capful is suffice to flavour the bottle of soda. Set aside or chill in the refrigerator - soda does taste better chilled!

Mango Orange chilled.

The family relies alot on soda water to cure any impending sore throat rather than lozenges. Soda works better for us than the syrups as there is an unmistakeable saccharine sweetness that gets to you after every drink. Nonetheless, this is still a very handy product to have at home - especially with growing kids who have an insatiable appetite for all things fizzy and sweet!

Sodastream aims to more than just turn water into soda but seek to revolutionize the beverage industry by reducing plastic bottle waste and being an environmentally friendly product. Support their green movement today!

Sodastream machines are located at all leading departmental stores.
