It has been ages since I was invited to a wedding at M Hotel and while memories are not particularly great, they were not too bad. This time round, it was hosted on the 10th floor of the hotel with a terribly cramped foyer area and a long walk way into the ballroom.
With the impending wedding, I realised the walk in was a U-shape so then, nothing that diners bother too much about.

Cold Dish Combination
Roast Suckling Pig, Deep Fried Honey Prawns, Prawn Salad with Fresh Fruits, Abalone Clam in Thai Style, Japanese Unagi)
This was a tasty platter with personal favourites going to the roast suckling pig, unagi and abalone clam.

Braised Shark's Fin Soup with Fish Maw and Conpoy
Portions were generous enough for second helpings - generous chunks of the delicacies and thankfully not starchy.

Braised Whole Baby Abalone with Ling Zhi Mushroom and Chinese Spinach
The baby abalones sure got us all sparkly eyed though it really just tasted like shellfish.

Steamed Soon Hock in "Hong Kong" Style
Horribly bland, the only saving grace was the soya sauce at the table.

Roast Pipa Duck with Plum Sauce
I was looking forward to this all night - a well roasted crisp skinned duck perfumed with a delightful smoky fragrance.

Stir-fried Scallop with Asparagus in X.O. Sauce
Scallops were the leading stars in the dish - bouncy and generous enough for everyone to eye them.

Braised Eefu Noodles with Assorted Mushroom and Chives
The portioning of this by the server was a nightmare to watch as he struggled with the utensils and dropped noodles almost all over the main plate before we were given inconsistently filled bowls. Tastewise, decent. I was just thankful I had some to eat.

Yam Paste with Gingko Nuts
Yet another pain to watch as the server dunked each portion with so much force and inaccurate gauging and we all ended up with portions in weird amounts and sizes. This was not the best, since Swa Garden has claimed the crown but it was pleasant enough for the rest of us to stay.
Congratulations to the newly weds - Y and Z!
