Michelle's Tea Shoppe @ Cold Storage, Raffles City

Tucked in the busy Jason's supermart is Michelle's Tea Shoppe. Whoever Michelle is, her choux puffs stood out for being larger than any cream puffs around, stiff and value for money somewhat.

The lady over the counter was eclectic to a certain extent, carefully enunciating every word and even returning the change by tinkling the coins on my palm. Odd as can be, as if I stepped into a completely different world or even back in time when time stood still during the purchase. As dramatic as that sounds, it felt that way!

choux puff

Choux Puffs ($5.80 for two)

Passe, in one word. Thick and rubbery with whipped cream slapped on quite unapologetically. Face it, I could have eaten this years back and thought the world of it but time, being the most cruel enemy, has made this one of the worst eaten to date.

cream

Creamy overkill.

chocolat

Chocolate Eclair ($2.90)

Slightly better with the chocolate coating but the dryness of the pastry was unavoidable.

eclair

Something that made it not too delicious afterall.

A has been for me, unlikely to return.
