Arossa replaces La Nonna Rossa, as a Japanese-Italian fusion place with a menu more focused on grills than pastas.
$35++ set dinner.
Bread basket comprised of an adequate selection of walnut loaf, foccacia and baguette, all were lovely attempts - perfect with either butter or olive spread.
Buffalo Mozzarella with Sicilian Tomato and Basil Salad
This struck me as a wafu-based salad with mozzarella that was cardboard bland though.
Shrimp Salad with Fennel, Chickpeas and Orange
I appreciate the tropical touches of this with orange wedges incorporated for a zesty finish and lovely prawns.
Barramundi with Caponata, Herb Sauce
A well executed fresh barramundi with succulent flakes of fish. For once, sold on Barramundi.
Grilled AUS Striploin with Rocket Salad, Parmesan, Balsamic Sauce
Thumbs up for the portions accorded for Restaurant Week, alas a place that recognises that portions should not be compromised.
The doneness of the steak varied though throughout the chunk - more tender towards the end.
Tiramisu
A floppy delicious mess and definitely a first one layer tiramisu eaten, given how these are usually served in more than 2 layers. While the mascarpone layer was thicker than the sponge fingers, I thought the balance was delicate and absolutely delicious.
A drink next time, perhaps?
Lovely place with plenty of potential - yes, a return is a must soon!
