With June Holidays nearly half over, there is reason to rejoice! In conjunction with the launch of Disney’s latest blockbuster Monster University, Swensen’s is introducing three brand new cake designs featuring the endearing movie characters - Sulley, Mike and Friends! The new designs are available now, even before the launch of the Monster University, just so the Disney fans can start celebrating already!
With these additions, Disney fans can now covet over 19 Disney Movie themed cake designs, including other familiar Disney characters from popular movies like Cars, Finding Nemo, Toy Story, Lilo and Stitch and more. Classic Disney characters like Mickey & Friends, Pooh & Friends and Disney Princesses like Ariel and Snow White are also available.
Swensen’s offers a whopping 24 ice cream flavors to choose from, including all-time-favorites such as Sticky Chewy Chocolate, Frosted Chocolate Malt, Thin Mint, Strawberry Sherbet, Rocky Road, Pistachio Almond and Macadamia Nut. What’s even sweeter that is that you can choose up to any two flavors for your cake!
I opted for Macadamia Nut and Rocky Road in one cake. Macadamia nut actually overshadowed the latter with its fragrant and milky flavour, and the generous portion of nuts thrown in! Rocky Road was a surprise with marshmellows embedded in it. When I thought it was all icecream, there is a thin layer of sponge cake to satisfy the "cake" in it. A crowd pleaser in all aspects - cute to begin with that had all adults cooing over it and a lovely treat in such hot temperatures!
My main grouse is really cutting an icecream cake. The best way is to leave to thaw for 15 minutes, heat the knife before slicing and get a burly enough gym bunny to do the wonders - if not risk a tired wrist from wrestling with a rock hard cake.
