Martini Bar Revisited @ Grand Hyatt

glasshouse

Back at Hyatt bar for their famed martinis and the whole happy hour in a glass house concept that was enticing. Friday evening and hardly filled, I was surprised truth be told. The last I went saw the bar so packed with people, yet it could have been a stoke of luck since the crowds started filling in slowly.

Lamp love!

menu

Happy hour happiness!

nuts

Pepper cashews never fail to bring a big wide smile and they remain addictive, the last I checked.

crab cakes

Blue swimmer crabcakes, remoulade sauce ($18)

These are incredibly addictive and once again, the best crabcakes I’ve had locally. Well breaded with crabmeat chunks. Remoulade sauce, whatever it’s made of is potent stuff!

coconut

Coconut ($21)
Vox vodka, Malibu rum, fresh coconut juice, sugar syrup, coconut peel

I should have gone for the Fruitini…memory only hits me that I have tried it before when it arrived. Dang, that’s another wasted shot at trying to complete trying all their martinis! I suppose that is being consistent and this does have a tropical flavour to it – refreshing and coconutty with an alcoholic punch to make this more than just a tropical sunshine drink.

spicy and hot

Hot and Sexy ($25)
Absolut Peppar, martini extra dry, lemon twist, chilli garnish

The alcohol version of Szechuan Court’s Chilli icecream, effects area not felt until swallowed for a weebit and the fire starts. Acquired and somewhat magical, this ain’t for the fainthearted nor feather headed.

The first visit was love, so was the second...Can't wait for the next return!
