Singaporeans love our Bak Kut Teh and that possibly is no secret by now.
I was not aware
that this outlet is similar to the one near PSA, not that it mattered
anyway.
The place is packed – a gauge of how carnivorous the nation is. Expect no frills yet prompt service – a largely Chinese crowd and mostly, men. I could be wrong about men being more of a carnivore than women.

Bak Kut Teh ($6)
Black pepper soup
is what this has, instead of the other personal favourite of herbal
soup. Mildly peppery, the portion is small. The companion needed to have
two bowls to even satisfy hunger, not even be
full. The pork pieces were barely flavoured, a tad bland and tough.
Miles off from Song Fa. What annoyed me most was the obviously watered
down soy sauce and barely fiery sliced chilli.
Spinach
Tau Pok
Seaweed and Mushroom Soup
This looked like an entire can of mushrooms was emptied into it – value for money I suppose.
Severely disappointed with the quality of food dished up – back to the hunt for best Bak Kut Teh!
