Undeterred by the crowds as seen below, we returned for a second visit as early at 830am to beat the morning office crowds if any!
阜杭豆漿 is the country's and tourist's favourite for traditional breakfast. The insane queues over a weekend.
There is only one reason to be at Huashan Market.
阜杭豆漿 very cleverly draws us the queue plan, just in case the crowds get unruly.
Clear signages in place for the blur.
Unbelievably early they open! Very clear ordering instructions they have; the first two ladies will only entertain soyabean drink orders.
An easy queue for a weekday.
Closed every monday!
Do make a mental note what to order - having a bunch of taiwanese ladies firing off at you in chinese what you want to eat can get too mindboggling. I ended up with too much of the same thing.
Doughsticks - done really well, not too oily and chewy!
Soyabean savoury and sweet! The sweet soyabean milk was thick enough and mildly sweet.
The savoury came in a beancurd form topped with crunchy doughsticks and a dash of soya sauce. A hearty morning perk me up.
I got lost in the world of 烧饼. Fu Hang confused me with a thick and thin version anda myraid of similar stuffings. This is probably the thin 烧饼 with egg and doughstick.
And this is the thick 烧饼 with the same ingredients. Chinese burger, I would conclude. Loved the density of the carb here, doughsticks eaten slightly soggy actually taste quite good.
烧饼 without anything, even on its own I laude it for not being greasy and so easy to eat.
More of them buns - sweet and savoury. I prefer the sweet one, tasted just like lotus paste tau sar piah!
I can only imagine how the weekend crowds are like. With 阜杭豆漿 dominating the floor, I should think they deserve the long queues.
It was one really hearty and wholesome breakfast, miles better than Yong He!
