Pontian Wanton Mee has franchises all over, it's become too ubiquitous. More like a brand name than wanton mee from across the Causeway.
The only variations they do is wanton mee in various condiments - black sauce, chilli sauce and ketchup. Yes, it can come in all three condiments. I was daring enough to go for the usual black sauce and chilli sauce choice ($3.50). Uninspiring noodles with black sauce and a powerless chilli sauce. Probably too educated by Fei Fei or Ah Eng Wanton Mee to know that the chilli sauce or paste has to be outstanding. Crispy fried wantons and boiled ones both made it to the same meal.
